In-Home Services are the provision of mail-back packages for the return of Unwanted Medicines by mail or disposal pouches, kits, and/or containers for the disposal of Unwanted Medicines. ACCEPTED: Unwanted or expired opioids and/or benzodiazepines in their original packaging or a sealed bag.
NOT ACCEPTED: Any medications other than those listed above, herbal remedies, vitamins, supplements, cosmetics, other personal care products, aerosols, inhalers, sharps, drugs used solely in veterinary care, drugs used primarily for medication-assisted substance use disorder treatment, illicit drugs.
* This list identifies information on some of the mail-back, and in-home disposal programs that may be available to Massachusetts residents for disposing of opioids and benzodiazepines. Some of the programs may be limited to a subset of Massachusetts residents (e.g., residents actively using a specific medication). Please contact the programs before attempting to use them to confirm they are available to you and able to accept your medications.
